27th Birthday

This past Thursday was my birthday. 27 on the 27th. We went out to eat at Benja's which was very good and came back home for cake (cherry cheesecake). We had another couple over for the celebration and Emily decided to act shy as you can see below.

Emily is learning quick. She knows a lot of alphabet and numbers. Here are some animal noises she knows. Some of them are quiet so you might have to turn up the volume to hear them all.

One of Emily's favorite spots is on the bench next to the fireplace. She's a good little climber. She'll also climb up on her mini stroller in awkward positions where I think she's going to tip over, but hasn't yet. Yesterday she made it up a couple steps on the ladder. As of this point, she hasn't really had a bad fall so I think her level of fear is not quite sufficient for her abilities. Oh well. Here is a new picture and video in case you're interested. Here is a video of Emily playing with her friend Alanis. She definitely gets into the music. At church when she hears a song she'll start directing and sway back and forth.

Warming up

The weather has been warming up a little going back and forth over the past few weeks. We decided to get a simple pool for Emily to cool off this summer. As you can see in the picture, she isn't quite ready to jump all the way in as the water was a little cold still.
